Executive & Professional Women

Feeling overwhelmed and trapped… I have all the education to succeed but it's never enough. I feel invisible, not valued and feel the pressure trying to please everyone at work and at home (which feels like an impossible task). So the guilt mounts at even the smallest thought to put myself first or do things that I enjoy… spread so thin.

Everyone expects me to do all the things and everyday seems like there is more and more on the plate. The boss doesn’t seem to notice just how much I do and how much I sacrifice to get the job done. Yes, I am a high achiever, but I am tired….I feel burned out. It seems everyday blends with the next and life lacks joy and fulfillment. This life is not sustainable.

Always putting work first, I have some seniority and I am looking forward to getting that promotion at work. Yet despite all the efforts, hard work, putting self last to rise to the top at work, someone else gets that promotion. I am devastated and feel robbed. I put my personal life on hold to get this and here I am being overlooked… Angry…. sad… lost, where do I go from here? Always putting work first, but now that has to change. No longer willing to leave my life for a job that does not appreciate or see me…

I have always been a great co-worker and team player. Always willing to help the new person out, show them around and want them to feel comfortable. Yet, I’m surrounded by people that are not on my side. They are competing with me, or making me look bad. I’m ignored and in the dark. Tired of the gossip and the toxic work environment... Feeling trapped and don’t know how to get out of this situation. Feeling tired, drained and physically ill every time there is a meeting.
